How do different lasers differ?

Essentially, the effectiveness and safety of tattoo removal depend on the wavelength, pulse width, and power of the laser. The optimal range for lasers is between 500 and 1064 nanometers, with a very short pulse width, as this targets pigment and ink rather than blood and skin cells.

The right expertise is crucial

The most important factor is to choose providers who can utilize the correct wavelength and understand the differences in tattoos and their colors to select the appropriate wavelength and treatment frequency. Another aspect that differs is the Q-switched laser technology, which determines how often the laser fires—i.e., the frequency. Q-switched lasers operate in nanoseconds. The rule of thumb is that the shorter the pulse, the safer it is for the skin. Almost everyone today has a Q-switched laser; however, there are differences in how well these devices function, and many machines promise more than they can deliver. Some do not have sufficient power—measured in Joules—to achieve maximum effectiveness with the shorter pulse.

Frequently discussed

Pico lasers are frequently promoted as a safer and more gentle option for skin treatments. However, due to their use of higher power, they require shorter pulse durations. Producing machines with the necessary power, or motor strength, can cost several million dollars. Consequently, experts in the tattoo removal industry unanimously agree that nanosecond lasers offer the most effective removal method while reducing the risk of skin damage. What rethink uses

Since the summer of 2020, we have been using the Q-terra Q10 laser. Since its launch, it has become the world's most popular laser for tattoo removal, as it effectively removes tattoos while minimizing the risk of scarring. You can read more about it under "OUR LASERS."
