The R20 method for tattoo removal

The R20 method for tattoo removal

The R20 method involves treating a tattoo 2–4 times on the same day, with a 20-minute break between each session. The same type of laser is used as in regular tattoo removal, but the difference is that you wait 20 minutes between each session instead of 12 weeks.

This places significantly higher stress on the skin and greatly increases the risk of pigment changes or scarring. There is also a greater risk of blistering after the treatment. Additionally, the method is not effective for removing colored tattoos, as the skin can be damaged too severely.

Most importantly, there are no guarantees that the tattoo will disappear four times faster by lasering it four times in one day. For this reason, we have chosen not to use the R20 protocol. Instead, we achieve much better results by treating the tattoo every 12 weeks.

The following reasons explain why we do not perform the R20 method at any of our clinics:

• Increased risk of side effects

• Risk of scarring

• Uncertainty about the results

• Slower healing process

• Increased risk of pigment changes

• Higher risk of pain and discomfort
